This year the design prompt was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . There are four categories: set, hair & makeup, costume and marketing. The contest has strict guidelines and requirements on how design plates are to be submitted and displayed, including a 2-page design justification essay.

This is the first year Belton has entered the UIL Theatrical Design Contest. The contest releases a different prompt every year. This year it was a double feature, A Raisin in the Sun and Clybourne Park. There are four categories: set, hair & makeup, costume and marketing. Students are able to enter individually or as a group.
The contest has strict guidelines and requirements on how design plates are to be submitted and displayed, including a 2-page design justification essay.
