What are the USITT Tech Olympics?
Every year the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) holds a competition to showcase the skills of theatre technicians. These elite technicians from schools across the country assemble to match skills against their peers for individual prizes and as teams for the coveted USITT Tech Olympics Trophy. The best of the best from each team race the stopwatch in a variety of events designed to test their ability and teamwork using skills that theatre technicians must demonstrate on a daily basis.
What are the BISD Tech Olympics?
We invite all of our middle school students for a day of theatre tech learning and friendly competition. The first half of the day students rotate through workshops where they learn skills such as costume measuring, using a drill, and makeup application. The second half of the day they compete in team and individual events against their fellow peers. The middle school with the most medals wins the Traveling Trophy.
